Large scale high resolution 3D recording of maritime landscapes in Shetland, UK

In May crazy eye perspectives has been to Shetland to record large archaeological landscapes for the DFG Project "Harbours in the North Atlantic (800–1300 AD) HaNoA".

We were very lucky with the weather, almost no rain but a constant breeze to fly our kites. That`s how we like it! We were able to record two potential Viking Age harbour sites and their surroundings like various longhouses or an Iron Age broch. An area of more than 50 ha has been covered at each site which may be the largest area ever covered by an archaeologist with Kite Aerial Photography!
